The Children's Book Project (SPV.0004) was a 2020-2021 school year creative writing project for 6th-8th graders at the Guerneville School in Guerneville, California, under the direction of English Language Arts teacher, Jessica Glentzer. The students worked on all aspects of book production, including creating stories inspired by the California Common Core standards, their reading of Ghost Boys by Jewell Parker Rhodes, and by Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID -- a career and college readiness program); illustrations; and book layout. They created thirteen books in all, each with a thematic message that ranged from bullying to forgiveness. Finally, the students narrated the videos of their books presented here.
