Images portraying the winemakers and companies of Sonoma County, past and present. They document the immigrants and Utopians who founded the early wineries, wine families, the vineyards and wine production, promotional postcards, and the many varieties of wine created in Sonoma County.

Recordings and transcripts of interviews with winemakers, growers, and other notable figures in the Sonoma County wine industry from the early 1970s to the present. Interviews were conducted by William Heintz, Carole Hicke and others. Transcripts have been published as part of the Friends of the Sonoma County Wine Library Oral History Series.

The Biblioteca Vinaria Sonoma (SPC.00076) draws from the Sonoma County Wine Library's collection of historic books and documents, primarily from the 16th to early 20th century. The collection covers all aspects of viticulture and winemaking, ranging from proclamations of George III on wine regulations to letters describing the grape production in Sonoma Valley vineyards, and from temperance operas to nursery catalogs. Most works focus on general wine topics and other wine regions, but the collection does include a significant number discussing Sonoma County and California winemaking.
