Biographical or Historical Note

Old time dredger on Petaluma Creek on Water Street. Two story building on left is Bowl's [sic] Flour Mill and several tenants over the Petaluma Argus Courier Building. Note building between it and creek. The brick building in background is the old McCune Bldg on Main and Washington St. which extended to Water St. The large wooden building had quite a career some of which were as adjunct of Schluckebier Hdwe Co, Joe Dye's restaurant, Torliatts Auto Top Shop, a cobbler shop, Acme Sheet Metal, etc. The second story served as a rooming house for many years. It burned down in the middle 1970's.--Typed caption below photo.
