Biographical or Historical Note

According to William S. Borba this was Sebastopol's first school built in 1859. It was first called Lagoona School, name was changed to Laguna School until 1896-97 when the building was enlarged and renamed the Sebastopol District School. It was located at the site of the present day City Hall and Library.
