Ella M. (Parsons) Denman (March 26, 1867-Dec. 8, 1938) and an unidentified woman stand by railroad tracks. The hills west of present-day Petaluma Boulevard North are visible in the background.

Biographical or Historical Note

Photographed near the Denman homestead, known as Denman Flat. The Denmans had a stop at Milepost 3.6 along the new Petaluma and Santa Rosa Railroad line between Petaluma and Sebastopol, which was completed in October 1905. The stop was located close to the present-day Corona Road overcrossing of U.S. Highway 101.
