Description

Biographical or Historical Note

The bank building at 199 Petaluma Blvd. North was designed in the Second Renaissance Revival style by H. H. Winner of San Francisco for the Sonoma County National Bank. Bank of America took over the building when they purchased the Sonoma County National Bank, although they continued operations in the old building at 201 Main as well. After Bank of America moved all operations across the street to their new building (now at 200 Kentucky Street) in 1969, the old bank building has housed a number of businesses ranging from antiques to Persian rugs. Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds, also known as the Seed Bank, currently occupies the space. The new bank building was proposed for demolition and replacement in 2007
