Biographical or Historical Note

Photo is undated but taken after 1946, when Joseph and Bennie Friedman of Santa Rosa purchased their building, formerly owned by M. Lerer. According to an article in the April 8, 1946 edition of the Petaluma Argus-Courier, M. Lerer had been a pioneer Petaluma business owner and had run his store stocked with "everything under the sun" for 40 years. He sold his auto parts store next door to his son, Chas Lerer. (Source: M.
