Biographical or Historical Note

Manuel and Jennie Borba, were born in St. George Island (SSao Jorge), Azores. Their son, Emanuel, was born in 1876 in Providence, R.I. The family moved to California in 1879 and first settled in Hayward, Calif. They arrived in Sebastopol, Calif. on April 14, 1892 and lived on at 214 Florence Avenue. Emanuel and his siblings became prominent business people in Sebastopol.
