Biographical or Historical Note

Bear Valley Ranch at Olema is now Point Reyes National Seashore Headquarters. This photo is one of the earliest Boissevain photos preserved. Photographer M. B. Boissevain began as the first UC Cooperative Extension Farm Advisor in 1920. As part of his role and duties, he generated annual reports from 1921 to 1939 and captured hundreds of significant photographic images of Marin's agriculture including its people and farmscapes.
