Mail to fly on chartered Fairchild monoplane; second left, standing on the plane: Robert Barham, pilot; third left, handing mail to pilot: Ernest L. Finley (1870-1942), Postmaster of Santa Rosa; various unidentified post office personnel standing by mail truck with bags of mail; one holding a sign addressed to James A. Farley, Postmaster General, Washington DC; plane route: Fort Bragg to Ukiah to Santa Rosa to Mills Field in San Francisco; first time mail has flown from the north bay.
