The steamer "Antelope" is visible moored by the dock at Peter Donahue's with flags flying. The Sonoma Hotel is visible to the right.

Biographical or Historical Note

The "Antelope" carried the first Pony Express rider from Sacramento to San Francisco. The landing was established by Peter Donahue and was the terminus of the San Francisco North Pacific Railroad from 1869 to 1885.
