The Rotchev house, named for Commandant Alexander Rotchev, is visible from the rear. The two story attached addition constructed by William Benitz is also seen.

Biographical or Historical Note

Alexander Rotchev was Commandant of the fort from 1838-1841. William Benitz purchased the fort in 1857 and built the addition between 1845 and 1866.
