- Photo--black and white:A group of men standing in front of the Montreal Saloon in Occidental prior to 1904. Lazare Pare was the French Canadian owner and stands to the right of the doorway in vest and shirtsleeves. Inside the saloon was a barbershop operated by Leo (Lee) Carrillo who was Mrs. Pare's nephew. A bench in front of picket fence with signs on the backrest that read "Pastime Plug Tobacco."
