Wine report, June 1969

In this past year, we have participated in over 100 college events. The knowledgeable wine lecturers, we expanded our coverage of the college campus groups, from Massachusetts to Florida to Washington and of course included a heavy California emphasis. Our college program utilizes many different ways of presenting

the California wine story, including speeches, California wine tastings and special classes for interested college groups. As an example, a lecture and wine tasting was held for the University of Iowa Student american Medical Association in cedar rapids. It was one of many student medical groups, Tony common

even though this year's activities on college and university campuses have been most gratifying, there is an opportunity and a need for an extension of this effort. numbers than would be possible with a spokesman program alone. We have therefore created a short course on basic wine knowledge themed to California wine, which instructors can adapt to a one class session with a laboratory period or it can be extended to two or three classes

or more. Our basic kit has as its major teaching aid a film called Wine One, A Excerpts from it will be shown you today. The kit also contains a lesson plan for 1-4 classroom periods, brochures and other California wine materials. The film is offered to home

economics departments and other campus groups for regular class use and it will also be used when spokesman events and tastings are scheduled. It is presented in two segments. Basic wine education and wine cookery. The film is produced so that food preparation can be left out for

A Today marjorie, jan and I want to cover for you the broadest possible spectrum concerning wines and they're expanding usage in our way of life. You've probably noticed the tremendous surge of interest these days in wines. More and more people are serving wines with meals and
