- Description
- Photo--color: The Chenoweth Sawmill on Green Valley Road. In operation from 1952 to 1963 the sawmill was located on the Chenoweth Ranch. "Logs are laid on the carriage and moved throught the saw to be rough cut . The cut boards are then sent to a planing mill to be refined into smooth lumber. Bud Chenoweth is supervising the operation of the mill, but his outline is barely visible on the right. Bud is the son of Leland Adelbert "Del" Chenoweth and Ann Gerhardt, both decendants of Green Valley pioneer families. The Gerhardt Ranch was renamed the Chenoweth Ranch in 1943. Chenoweth Woods, located on the ranch near the sawmill site, is a popular location for weddings, picnics and reunions." Caption taken from Lesa Tanner book "Graton."
