Description
Photo--black and white, from Borba 8" x 10" celluloid negative: St. Sebastian's Catholic Church in Sebastopol circa 1920-1930s. All the girls are wearing white head coverings and the boys are wearing white are bands and are wearing suits. This church was demolished in the 1950s and a new St. Sebastian's was rebuilt in late 50's. This Church no longer exists, but was located around the area of Santa Rosa Avenue and Depot Street in Sebastopol. The church was "opposite the Layton cottages on Bodega Avenue, near the depot,"referring to the Northern Pacific Railroad that opened a line from Santa Rosa to Sebastopol in 1890.
