- Photo--black and white: The Speas Manufacturing and Distillery plant in Sebastopol at the corners of McKinley and Petaluma Avenue circa 1990s. The Speas plant was built in 1919 by Frank Butler and was subsequently sold to Speas in 1929. The company made and stored vinegar and distilled apple brandy. This photo shows the plant at a time when it was up for sale in the 1990s. It was subsequently sold and turned into the Sebastopol Cinemas in 1993.
