- Photocopy--black and white: (photocopy of postcard) Altamont Hotel in Occidental circa 1877. Caption: "Altamont Hotel at Occidental, first class with 29 rooms, rates reasonable, the traveler's home. Kept by W. P. Stone." Two-story wood building with 2nd story porch. Men and women seated and standing on porch. The original post office is on the left. The hotel was originally named Summit House and was owned by Andrew Jackson Blaney (Occidental's first post master) The Altamont Hotel burned down in 1914.
