- Black & white photo of 1906 Earthquake damage of Main Street. Brick building with damage. Odd Fellows Lodge (IOOF) on right. The two story building on left is the United States Hotel (formerly Janssen Hotel) purchased by Mr. William Dowd of Placer County in 1900. Dowd changed the name of the hotel to the United States Hotel. The hotel was destroyed by fire in the early 1920s.
