- Description
- Photo--black and white: The home of Mary (Chandler), Charles Olcott and Melvin DaVall family in Sebastopol, California. Located in the area west of the intersection of the intersection of 116 and Guerneville Road. The 38-acre apple and berry ranch backed up to the Green Valley Creek. The house was a huge 3-story home. The lower story was two-thirds underground and had 10-foot ceilings, solid cement walls and floors. This underground portion was the storage area of thousands of boxes of apples. The wide cement steps led to the front door of the living quarters which was actually the 2nd floor.
