Pyramids of the sun at the Sonoma County Fair

Yeah, yeah. Work on this year's Hall of Flowers began last October when designer Jackie Jeffrey began construction of a scale model with the theme Pyramids of the Sun. The model must be accurate, since it is consulted throughout construction by workers in the hall of flowers Go,

go, go! The hall of flowers represents a tradition of more than 25 years of themed flower shows. In a building the size of an aircraft hangar, the fair hires a designer who sets the tone, and professionals from local nurseries set up their gardens as a part

of the main theme. The show is the largest themed flower show in the country and is always one of the premier attractions at the fair. Work started in the Hall of Flowers on April one. Each year we start with an empty building. No dirt, no fountains,

no sets. A crew of eight people work full time in the hall of flowers, supplemented by subcontractors who do the masonry, asphalt sheet, metal work and set painting. Mhm. The 18 ft waterfall includes more than 120 tons of rock and will circulate 1500 gallons of water

Hall of Flowers until a week before opening day. They started on July 14 and were required to finish by Midnight Saturday, July 21. In addition to the requirement that they follow a theme that complements the overall theme pyramids of the sun, at least 50% of the
