Biographical or Historical Note

Pat Paulsen was an American comedian and satirist who owned, with his wife Jane Paulsen, Pat Paulsen Vineyards (and later bought the former Italian Swiss Colony winery and Asti Village). Paulsen was also notable for his perennial satiric campaigns for the U.S. Presidency.

Inquiring minds want to know just how we managed such a brilliant name for this Vin Inordinaire Superieur de la Jug. Some rumor that a secret nationwide contest was conducted to adequately sing the praises if this varietal premium ambrosial blend. Others are convinced that is was conceived (as was Pat Paulsen) simply in a moment of whimsy. Still others believe that the label was the product of a meditationally-induced vision on the plains of Nebraska amidst amber waves of grain. POPPYCOCK! The truth is this. One day our manager, George White, inquired,"Pat, where did you put that unlabeled wine?" To which the funny old winemaker replied,"It's in the refrigerator, White. ; Another great moment in wine history brought to you by the staff of Pat Paulsen Vineyards but not necessarily reflective of their sense of humor. This should put an end to inquiring minds. CONTAINS SULFITES.
