- Description
- Photo--black and white: Pat Pierini with two wagons load of charcoal in sacks pulled by six mules in harness. The front wheels of both wagons are slightly smaller than back wheels for maneuverability. Pat is riding one of the mules closest to wagon. Picture taken near the Laguna de Santa Rosa. Italian emigrants that lived in Sonoma County were much sought after for their ability to produce smokeless charcoal. This was a particular desire of San Franciscians of the time.
