- Photo--Sepia: Nathaniel Griffith was an apple farmer who introduced the Gravenstein apple to the Sebastopol area at Vine Hill in 1890. Griffith was the first person to grow the Gravenstein apple in Sebastopol. The Griffiths lived off Laguna Road in Sebastopol. The house was burned and no longer exists. Griffiths Woods at 1881 Laguna Road. Embossed on photo "Salb."
