Description

The flyer shows a sketch with a center panel view of the fort situated on a bluff, seen from the sea, surrounded by sketches of fort buildings and residences.

Biographical or Historical Note

The sketch shows drawings of: the chapel entitled "Greek Church," with stables alongside; the ball room, which was the old fur barn; the residence of Asa E. Blackford, nephew of George Call; the post office and store; the Fort Ross Hotel which was the Rotchev house and Benitz addition; Fort Ross landing at the cove with its crane; the residence of George W. Call; an eight-sided blockhouse. The hotel opened in 1878 and was managed by Cushman and Leonard.
