Biographical or Historical Note

The assault committed by the Howard Street Gang members George Boyd, Terrance Fitts and Charles Valento led to the arrest of the gang, during which Sonoma County Sheriff James Petray and San Francisco detectives Miles M. Jackson and Lester Dorman were murdered. (ANNEX R 979.418 OWEN)
