- Description
- Photo--black and white: A Hess Lumber Co. truck loaded and tied down with lumber circa 1920s. Earl "Buck" Sharp to the left and two other workmen are standing by the truck in front of the Hess lumber yard in Sebastopol. Signs painted on the truck advertise the Hess Lumber Co. in Sebastopol, Cal and the Phone number 80. The Henry Hess Company lumberyard and office was located on Sebastopol Road (Highway 12) next door to the "old" St. Sebastian Church on the left hand side as you leave Sebastopol for Santa Rosa. The Lumber yard was across the street. The building was torn down in 1997.
