Creator Note

Edward Henry Mitchell was born on April 27, 1867 in San Francisco and was one of the most prolific postcard publishers on the west coast of the United States. He was based in San Francisco from the late 1890’s to the early-1920s. Photographer for this particular postcard isn't identified; Mitchell was primarily known as a publisher, rather than as a photographer -- many of his postcards were originally created by other publishers and photographers whom he bought out.
