- Description
- Photo--black and white: The 1948 apple dryer fire at the Oehlmann drier in Graton (predecessor to Manzana Products Co.). Employees attempted to put out the fire with cider vinegar, but the plant was damaged so severely, that it had to be rebuilt. At this time the decision was made not to replace the kilns. The business was changed to a cannery and fruit drying was discontinued. Train tracks are seen in the foregournd.
